Perhaps. <br /><br />Do I think this same essay written by an unknown would be taken differently? Yes.<br /><br />Does that ultimately matter? Maybe not.<br /><br />Weirdly, I respect her stance and not her explanation. I wish she'd just have come out and said "hey, I'm Sarah Ruhl, dammit, and I'm paying for this out of my own pocket. So no, I'm not letting you in for free. Because I don't care what you think, and I just wrote a check for the equivalent of your salary for the next two years. So please, leave me the fuck alone."
