Notes from Underground at the Brick

You should go and see this. I would very much like to. By all accounts it's amazing.

Saw it last night, and it is a great achievement. It's heartbreaking and haunting. No one does self-abnegations and self-loathing like the Russians, but to see the displays of hope in the Underground Man in the midst of his savage self-attack comes across very well. The unique set and staging are bold and innovating in a way that serves the play rather than being bold and innovating for its own sake. Honeywell does such a great job in this role, as does the entire cast as aspects of his mind and memory.
