The fact that Democrats have won the House is certainly a glorious thing: it shows that it only took six years for voters to become angry enough at Bush to take it out on his slaves.
Oh don't get me wrong! I AM happy. But it's hard not to be frustrated, and it's hard not to express it.
Our victories yesterday, and Rumsfeld's resignation today, can't help but make everyone a little lighter on their toes.
I think the frustration is that it took this long and this much effort to bring people to essentially simple truths. Iraq was never a good idea: it was always doomed, fabricated on lies, and was invented for political and financial gain by very bad men. The idea that Bush was elected once (not the first time) and was able to push his terrifying worldview onto this much of the American public, for so long, makes them "coming to their senses" a little sour.
Matt -- Just why is it that we Dems can never quite be...happy...about...anything?
