Collective: Unconscious to Close Its Doors for Good?

In a press release, I just received this information:

"When the lease on its Tribeca home expires on July 31, 2008, Collective: Unconscious will close its doors for good. This decision comes on the heels of a massive plumbing problem that has rendered its lower level "lobby" and backstage storage area unusable and has forced much of its previously announced UNDERGROUNDZERO FESTIVAL to seek new venues."

Anyone out there have more info about this?

  1. I don't know if you got the same release as me, but yeah, the whole festival has moved to different venues, and it doesn't look like Collective:Unconscious will reopen at that venue. Perhaps local theaters like SoHo Rep or The Flea will make space available during downtime for a discounted rate? They didn't exactly have a large theater, but they did have a nice SPACE, particularly for bar-type shows.
