(And poor Heath Ledger couldn't help but off himself after a performance like that. Bipolar folks, especially in the acting biz, are rather susceptible to freaky vibrations.)

Yeah, seeing a summer superhero flick that puts a serious serious serious Oscar contender into the ring (Heath Ledger) shouldn't be casually allowed to languish at the bottom of one's summer to-do list.
He really does lend the Joker a truly harrowing thirst for fear and violence that completely blows the roof of that character's traditional "scary clown" vibe and moves it into a realm of murdering, make-up wearing psycho on the loose.
