On the other hand

As a counterpoint to this, today I received a thoughtful and kind letter from a theater I greatly admire about one of my plays. While they noted that they couldn't currently produce the play, they clearly had given it a close reading and were complimentary, specific and generous. It took them months to send this letter, and I didn't mind in the least.

  1. Hey matt,

I loved that initial post of yours- and am happy to see that another theater treated you differently... maybe they should be named as a way of praising them!

Anyway, I finally wrote a long over-due response (or really, expansion to) your initial post here:

    hope you enjoy.

  2. Hey there -

    Interesting post yourself.

For the record: I'm not naming theaters at all on this subject. I don't want any theater that receives my work to think that its response might be blog fodder.
