Halloween just got more terrifying

Bush signs a bill that gives him the right to declare martial law.

I thought that "checks and balances" meant that too much power should not reside in the Executive Office. Apparently, with this Congress, it means that they should give as much power as possible to the King.

Just in time, I give you the October Surprise. THIS is why Bush gets exasperated and insists the Dems won't win next week. If the Diebold fix doesn't take care of it, he'll just declare martial law and void the elections. He's not gonna sit back and allow the democratic process to put people in power who want to impeach him. I fear this is all gonna get much worse before it gets better.
