Democrats (?) fail to override veto on SCHIP

This CNN article highlights something that has been driving me a bit nuts.

The first line:

House Democrats on Thursday failed to override President Bush's veto of a children's health insurance bill that opponents said was too expensive.

I fail completely to understand how this doesn't read...

House Republicans block override of Bush's veto.

Democrats brought it... Democrats failed.

Right. By voting for it repeatedly.

Liberal bias in the media Mr. Freeman.

Never forget it.

How can George Bush sleep at night saying that he is pleased with the failed override of this veto? This man is a fool! My US Rep from Tennessee is Marsha "rubberstamp" Blackburn. She says she didnt vote in favor of this bill because it is "just too expensive". She is the most ill conceived Representative I have ever seen. She calles the Democrats fiscally irresponsible. However, she votes in favor of all the Iraq spending bills. If she doesnt think that the war is fiscally irresponsible, she needs to be deported to an open island and sent into exile. It is just pathetic that we can fight foreign wars that have no end in sight but we cant even give health insurance to our own children.

But there is no profit in healthcare for children. If there was, you know we'd be on it.

The Bush administration takes handouts from all the lobbyists in the country. It's all about profit. There is no money in protecting the environment, so he's against it.

Bush doesn't care about children's health, because it doesn't put money in his or his supporters pockets.

He's the scum of the earth, and the worst president in the history of the United States.
