Show of hands

So, I was talking with Adam Szymkowicz last night before he went to a fundraiser at the Brick. (Which you can read about all over the blogosphere today, I'm sure.) We noted how even though there's quite a bit of potential in the theatrical blogosphere, that our impression that we didn't know who was reading the blogs besides, essentially, other bloggers.

So, if you're game, I'd love anyone who is not a blogger but is a regular reader of theatre blogs to comment below. Say whatever you want, of course... that's the beauty of these magical glowing boxes.

freeman, i tried a blog for three posts, as you know, but it's not my game. I do however, have bloglines set up for a good many of my theatrical and politicl fellows and so read all the new posts going on a year and a half now. hope this helps.

I don't have a blog, but I do read them and post comments when the spirit moves me. I don't think I'd have the time or inclination to write and maintain one well, and I don't think I could write interestingly about interesting topics for very long. But I think it's good to keep up with what's going on in the theatre world, and somtimes someone else's entry inspires me to make a contribution.

I have a blog--not a theater blog, though. Still, I think theater is interesting and I'd like to see more of it.

Sir,

I literally just found theatrical blogs about THREE MONTHS ago. I've known what a blog was, I just never sat down and read. So, I found you and others in your circle and some Chicago folks too. At first I was worried about posting comments, because it would be without registering, and I didn't want to register because I felt like you guys (parabasis,Angrywhiteguy, theaterideas, playgoer, and more) said it all. I think it's great. For the past 5 years I've felt isolated to the theater community, and didn't know wheree to look to see what people were thinking about High Costs of producing or Equity actors or no equity actors, etc. I also don't think you guys are exclusive to theatre, which is nice, what's great is you also tie various worlds togehter (most theatre folk I know...it's all about theatre...politics? what's that). So I like the fact that there is some political, social fabric going on.
I'm hoping you continue as well as the others, and I think it's great that the circle that I read is small but powerful with ideas.

Thanks for your ideas and insights.

Best,
