Matthew Freeman is a Brooklyn based playwright with a BFA from Emerson College. His plays include THE DEATH OF KING ARTHUR, REASONS FOR MOVING, THE GREAT ESCAPE, THE AMERICANS, THE WHITE SWALLOW, AN INTERVIEW WITH THE AUTHOR, THE MOST WONDERFUL LOVE, WHEN IS A CLOCK, GLEE CLUB, THAT OLD SOFT SHOE and BRANDYWINE DISTILLERY FIRE. He served as Assistant Producer and Senior Writer for the live webcast from Times Square on New Year's Eve 2010-2012. As a freelance writer, he has contributed to Gamespy, Premiere, Complex Magazine, Maxim Online, and MTV Magazine. His plays have been published by Playscripts, Inc., New York Theatre Experience, and Samuel French.

IMAGINE A PLACE WHERE...world class and cutting edge theatre companies and artists create new work side by side company and artists hold priority over projects or productsbold non-traditional collaborators enliven the current theatre scene the best emerging theatre artists unite each summer work for any stage develops at any stage.

Announcing the Orchard Project, a dynamic theatre center empowering the development of new voices, productions and ideas by bringing diverse companies and artists together in an ideal collaborative space. Located in a former resort on 80 acres within the Catskill National Forest Preserve atop the Hunter and Windham Mountaintop range, it is just over two hours from New York City. During each summer season, multiple companies and individual artists are provided with flexible rehearsal space, room and board in a ideal rural location.
